External
- More women than Men, especially in the church. Women more “spiritual” because they are more emotional / spiritually sensitive / mature. Gender hostility
- Marriage devalued in society, in tax laws. In media representation, in promotion of sexual immorality (including homosexuality) Gay Propaganda!
- Feminism – Left men confused as to their role and value
- Singleness glorified, presented as ideal, stress –free, sexually fulfilling, babies no problem (e.g. “Friends” sitcom) parents / older people invisible etc. A fantasy World!
- False views of feminine beauty and male good looks enter the subconscious through images (air brushed! – touched up), words in magazines etc. Youth and unreal image of beauty held up as most desirable, making people feel undesirable or causing the opposite sex look on them as undesirable.
- Spiritual oppression against marriage – marraiage being a ordinance of God and an image of Christ and the Church – Satan hates it! (Satanists “Praying against Christian marriages etc)
Internal
- Inner vows
- Cursing / Negative words of others (Rejected lovers)? Authority figures? Parents?
- Rejection (person expecting it and therefore reaping it)
- Low Self – Esteem and cursing oneself (see also point 5)
- Poor Grooming and hygiene (Man looks on the outward appearance…. 1 Sam 16.7)
- Pride and criticism / Despising

Read Ruth 1:9 & 3:1 “Rest in the house of husband”
Ruth is a beautiful story of God leading and guiding in finding a marriage partner for Ruth. Also the role of Naomi in helping it forward!
Read Proverbs 18:22, 19:14 & 21:10 – 12
Read Genesis 2:15 -25 & Mathew 19:1 – 15
Paul
1 Cor 6:15 – 16 – Wrong sexual bonds need breaking
1 Cor 7:1-3, 7, 8 , 25-40 – Singleness and marriage.
Singleness in recommended by Paul “because of the present distress’ i.e. persecution, at that time.
